Smell was all cherry with a hint of vanilla.
Taste is almost all cherry. It is strange, the flavor of cherries is so powerful but compliments the flavor very nicely. A faint taste is present (maybe honey?).
It is for all intensive purposes an average beer with a pleasant cherry taste.
I am giving this beer a better review than I think I should. Mainly because I think it will fill a good void of giving me the drink I need when I am not in the mood for a stronger beer. It is very drinkable for one or two bottles.

Aroma has a nice wheat malt and a heavy cherry nose. Taste is wheat malt, notes of cherry and honey. It also has a less noticable citrusy hop characteristic. It also has a cough syrup quality to it. Soft carbonation and a light to medium body. I can see why Sam Adams made changed this from a summer seasonal to all year around availability. It works in the spring and summer, and even as a christmas beer. Though if you are not a fan of fruit beers this may not be for you but I think it is worth a shot. durhambeer (1227), Durham, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Bottle from Sam’s. Bought to tick, and that’s what I’m doing. Luckily my wife finds this drinkable, because I don’t have much desire to finish it. Strong cherry nose, pretty lovely -- I swear almost like cherry cola. But the wheat is there, and it’s not doing the beer any favors. Wheat aroma is a bit off, and on the tongue, it’s sort of dirty and a bit pukey. Really. I kept thinking about someone vomiting after eating a bunch of Luden’s cough drops. Not all that bad, but I couldn’t get over the puke. I tend to like cherry beers just fine, but not this one. Sweet cherry flavor, hints of honey, and cough syrup. Has a slick texture, long finish. Carbonation is lively and laces well down the glass. Nice. Refreshing. KajII (56), Macon, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Poured amber-orange in color with a small fizzy head that dissapated rapidly with nice lacing. The aroma was overwhelming with cherries and a hint of sweet yeast. It tasted sweet with a very strong cherry flavor. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture. Overall nothing special, nice on a hot summer day. brenn79 (211), Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2009 12 oz. bottle- Pours hazy golden with average head, aroma is of the cherry filling out of a pie. Tastes like it should, an unfiltered wheat ale with a nice cherry flavor, I’ve always liked this beer, one of the better fruit beers. dimenhetfield (208), , Florida, USA
