Commercial Description:
Hazy and golden in color, this brew is a fresh twist on the popular Hefeweizen style. Eureka and Lisbon lemons, from three growing regions in California, balance out the wheat malt character, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with subtle lemon flavor. Cheers!

Bottle from the Binny’s in Orland Park, IL: This poured a lightly hazy straw/amber body with a modest size head and provided spotty lace. The aroma was bread and lemon juice. The flavor was mainly lemon. For a "fresh twist on the popular Hefeweizen style," this is really pretty blah.

Sampled on 11/27/2009. This wheat beer pours a slightly hazy medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized, quickly diminishing, white foamy head, without much lacing. The aroma is wheat, cereal, lemons and lemon peel, yet kind of sweet. A medium bodied wheat beer. The malts are cereal and wheaty. The hops are herbal. Lots of lemon and lemon peel flavors, yet not very sweet or very tart. Touch of banana and clove. Light and refreshing, and the lemon flavors are interesting at least. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and a touch tart.

12 oz bottle-pours a thin retaining white head and slightly hazed gold color. Aroma is light fruit-peach, light malt/wheat. Taste is sweet light fruit-peach, light malt/wheat, musty, slight hops. Thanks JWC for sharing.

Poured half into a pint glass and used the other half on some chicken I was frying up. At first I thought there was a great hop aroma but this was from the steam from the pan. Without that addition of heat the aroma is mild and unassuming. Not a lot to this beer.

bottle from the 12 beers of winter mixpack. Good lemony aroma. Some slight malty wheat taste balances the lemon very well. This is a nice summer beer. Its good.

Grassy wheat aroma followed by fresh lemons. Cloudy yellow-orange color, quarter inch white head and thick lacing. Crisp and light, quenching and mildly cloying...although that didn’t distract me too much. Dry, pale malt with plain biscuits and juicy lemons.

12 oz bottle from the Winter Classics pack. Fairly mild aroma of banana, citrus, and hay. Cloudy, light golden color. Strong lemon flavor with a light sweetness. Light body with a creamy texture and high carbonation. The hefe lovers will probably be turned off by the strong lemon flavor. It’s so strong that were it produced by a brewer with less integrity I’d swear it was artificial. I don’t generally love wheats so the lemon is a nice twist on a rather bland style, IMO. Strange to include it in a winter pack but it’s quite nice and I’ll likely buy it again in summer.

12oz bottle. a murky ugly dark gold color under a large white head. noseless. the lemons seem to add an unwanted bitterness to this beer. citric acid thing going on. the flavor is oddly metallic. hints of banana. the palate is the best thing about it. it’s creamy but light.
