Commercial Description:
Hazy and golden in color, this brew is a fresh twist on the popular Hefeweizen style. Eureka and Lisbon lemons, from three growing regions in California, balance out the wheat malt character, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with subtle lemon flavor. Cheers!

in the winter mixer... go figure. Pours hazy gold with a thick white head. Aroma is flat wheat cracker malt and lemon citrus. Club soda with some lemon kind of feel. Pretty dry. Very little of the wheat malt in the body. Something that comes across a little foul in the finish as well. can’t quite nail it down though.

12 oz. bottle from a Sam Adams Holiday Sampler pack. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a big, foamy white head. Lemon dominates the aroma and flavor, with notes of wheat, pepper, pale malt, and yeast. Light-medium bodied with a lot of active carbonation (like so many Sam Adams beers). Fizzy citrusy mouthfeel. This is an unusual one to include in a winter pack.

Experienced from a 12oz bottle in a fluted pilsner glass. The beer pours a light to just-short-of-medium golden hue, with a frothy head. Notes of lemon and a slight hefeweizen yeast ester to the nose. Both were fairly subtle, and would benefit from a bit more aggression. The palate seems to be the result of creating a malt bill that would appeal to a wide range of consumers. Little complexity, and not a whole lot going on other than a touch of the aforementioned lemon, a balancing bitterness, and a lot of carbonation. Overall, an inoffensive beer, and a decent example of a fairly boring style; but one that shows the mainstream aims of Sam Adams rather than true craftsmenship.

Pours a golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is wheat, lemon and flowers. Taste is somewhat similar - lots of wheat and lemon. Would be an okay brew for the summer time but surprised to fine it in the mix winter pack - but much better than the Sam Adams Light they used to throw in there... but not what I am looking for this time of year for sure.

Mild ale. Hints of lemon. Not overally abundant in the normal flavors you would associate with a wheat ale, particularly a Hef. Decent and drinkkable, but nothing I would seak out. Does not belong in a winter pack but at least it tastes better than the lambic.

12oz bottle, best by 3/2010. Large off-white head with good retention atop cloudy cider body. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon, some wheat. Taste is medium sweet, wheat, some lemon, light cream. Light-medium body, some creaminess.

This is what I get for not reading the full description. way to much lemon, lack of regular hefe characteristics, body, citrus and spice...just overpowering lemon, no real body...

Wheat, grains, lemon, bubblegum on the nose. The aroma is a little weak. The appearance is a slightly cloudy dark yellow, not that hazy considering the style. The flavor is cereal grain, mild citrus. The finish is a spicy hop taste. The mouthfeel is a little thin, typical for the style. OK for what it is, instantly forgettable.
