Similar flavor with a bit more of a spice presence. Still a hint of soap (not from my glass I can assure you). Not that bad.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Hazy yellow-orange body, thin off-white head. Nose of tangy wheat, hay/wet grass, biscuit, and citrus. Biting, sharply carbonated body, with grassy wheat and lemon notes. Fairly dry; nothing cloying about the citrus or the yeast. One of those "it’s alright" beers. Swalden28 (1512), McKinney, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with white head. Aroma of wheaty malt and lemon. Flavor is very much the same....Very faint hints of banana. Mouth feel is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, I can see myself enjoying one down by the pool which makes it odd that this was a winter release....None the less, it is tasty. gringo332 (242), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Not sure why Sam is putting thin one in the winter variety pack. My guess is that they had some left over summer beer to get rid of. Not a very good Hef. A bit of an alcohol flavor to me. mike67 (81), , New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 12 oz. bottle, from the Samuel Adams Winter Variety Pack (why have they replaced Black Lager from the pack beats me).
Hazy golden pour with a foamy (wheat ale type) head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malt with some yeast and hops. Medium, crisp, sweet body. Sweet malt and citrus fruit fills the mouth. Finish becomes tart at the end. Drinkable, but Sam Adams can do better.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Cloudy and golden, smelling of wheat and spices. White head, very bubbly. The flavor is what let me down. Very thin and one dimensional. Glad it was in a mixed pack and I didn’t have to wade through five more bottles. JMerritt (1320), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 12, 2009 12 oz. bottle, a part of the Samuel Adams Winter Variety Pack (kind of strange to offer a wheat beer as part of a "winter" pack if you ask me). Slightly chilled yellow-amber with a small, bright white head that is mostly diminshing. Aroma is of lemon tea, straw, light orange zest and vanilla. I pick up more tea leaves/herbs in the flavor which is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Wheaty, tangy finish with a bit of lemon zest and rye bread. Decent carbonation level, though the mouthfeel feels a touch too thin. A light, rather refreshing wheat, but sticks out like a sore thumb in a "winter variety pack." mmmbeer (762), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 11, 2009 12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a nearly perfect turbid orange-yellow-brown color, low to no carbonation, white ring for a head, aroma of light wheat, straw (must have used a Ford combine, HA!), and notes of lemon. Hits the mouth with a low-medium body, malt is somewhat there, light lemon in the middle, finish has a twang to it. Not too bad for when it gets hot down here in Texas next week...
