Commercial Description:
Hazy and golden in color, this brew is a fresh twist on the popular Hefeweizen style. Eureka and Lisbon lemons, from three growing regions in California, balance out the wheat malt character, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with subtle lemon flavor. Cheers!

Bottle courtesy of maniac. POurs a semi hazy mustard color with fading light tan head. Nose is bubblegum and wheat. Flavor is medicinal, and more bubblegum. Cloying and astringent on the palate. Lemonsol finish. Not very good.

This is what I get for not reading the full description. way to much lemon, lack of regular hefe characteristics, body, citrus and spice...just overpowering lemon, no real body...

Wheat, grains, lemon, bubblegum on the nose. The aroma is a little weak. The appearance is a slightly cloudy dark yellow, not that hazy considering the style. The flavor is cereal grain, mild citrus. The finish is a spicy hop taste. The mouthfeel is a little thin, typical for the style. OK for what it is, instantly forgettable.

Bottle that Rhino got from a holiday pack. Not sure how this fits in a winter seasonal pack but whatever. Pretty tasty wheat beer that even had a little tart funk in the finish.

12oz. bottle from the holiday pack. Served in a shaker pint. Poured a slightly hazy pale gold with a finger of fine bubbled white head. Wheaty aroma, but aroma was fairly faint. Light bodied. Decent malt base. The label touts lemon, but the citrus was slight to non existent. A decent version of an American Wheat, not what you would expect in a pack of winter brews. Would be pretty drinkable in the summer.

I didn’t want to try this as a sixer, so I finally got my hands on a single. Curious to know what "coastal wheat" is? Turns out it is just a plain old wheat beer with a bunch of lemon rind. Strong peel flavor that dominated the wheat.

~ Pours a cloudy light gold color with big fluffy white head. ~ Lemon wheaty aroma with orange and some spicy pepperness. ~ Lemon flavor, slightly wheaty. Lemon dominates. ~ Medium bodied with high carbonation. Astringent like after taste in finish. ~ I really don’t care for lemon in my beers. Leaves a funny taste in my mouth. Might be better in the hot summer and not the freezing cold. Not sure why they included this in the Sam Adams winter pack..? The scent is nice, Lemon dominates too much in the flavor.

Nothing stands out about this beer. Ho hum. It pours a cloudy pale orange with no head. Slight citrus barely noticeable in the aftertaste. Not a fan of this brew.

Pours a cloudy light orange almost yellow.Aroma is like a lot of your hefeweizens. The flavor is bland and whatever subtle lemon flavor it says it has it only gives it a light sour flavor.A bad one I might add.The body is very watered down.Just not a good beer at all.
