Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

Pours a bit muddled, no real red color, just cloudy brown. Smells of malt only, no fruit. Taste is straight cranberry- if you like it, you’ll love this beer. I am pretty ’’meh’’ on cranberry, personally. Finish is good, mouthfeel is good. This is a love-it or hate-it beer.

Bottle; Enjoyed after a sloppy joe dinner, part of holiday variety pack. Pours hazy red with slight cranberry nose. Very drinkable and pleasant but not overly memorable.

Average beer. Not as good as I would have hoped. Small hint of cranberries, but not really like other lambics I have tried.

Poured a hazy golden color with maybe a touch of pink. The head was white and fizzy. The aroma was slightly tart and then almost all wheat. The flavor was, well, pretty nasty. Tasted like buttered popcorn I dug out of pair sweaty underpants. Thin mouthfeel. Lots of carbonation. Do. Not. Want.

Bottle pours a cloudy orange with a reddish hue and a slightly pink head. Aroma has some belgian yeast notes to it along with some fruitiness. The flavor is fairly sweet and fruity at first followed by some tartness. Definitely has a lot of wheat beer characteristics to it (banana, clove, etc) more so than a pure lambic.

Pours a reddish orange, hazy with a off white head with a touch of red... Aroma contains the faintest touch of funk, though i may be forcing the notion that it actually is there into my brain... Fruity aroma, somewhat tart... Flavor is sweet, with big notes of cranberry, some sugary malts, no real hoppiness which is correct... Very easy drinking, not terrible, just not a lambic...

Pours a cloudy reddish-orange. Aroma is of sweet fruits - taste has a bit of tartness, but not nearly as sour as I was expecting. Cranberry comes through a bit on the taste, but not overpowering - other fruitiness comes through as well. Overall quite nice.

Experienced from a 12oz bottle in an English pub glass. The beer pours a slightly hazy light reddish color, with a very small head. The nose gives notes of Belgian ale yeast esters, bread, yeast, basement notes. Perhaps a slight touch of fruit, but very subtle, at best. Absolutely no lambic flavors come across the palate. The beer is not sour, shows, no evidence of wild yeasts/brettanomyces/lactobacilis/pediococcus. Instead, it is fairly full across the palate, has a reasonable level of malt character, and tastes far more like a relatively poorly made Belgian ale than a lambic. Overall, a very poor and essentially misleading effort from a brewer whose range of products is far too wide.

Bottle snagged from MrPickles variety pack - Huh...thought this one was going to be vomitous based on the reviews, but I found it pleasant, if a bit boring. ’Course, I drank it with a sinus infection... Anyways, pours a rosy amber with a small white head. Smells wheaty and sour, with some slight fruitiness. Not really picking up cranberry per se, but some general fruity sweetness. Taste is light malt with a carbonated cranberry tart/sweet flavor. Really, better than what I thought, thought it tastes a little more artificial than the New Glarus Cran-bic, which I just had. Smooth and medium-bodied. Wouldn’t search this out, but I’d drink it before macro swill.
