Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Hefeweizen has a traditional spin on a classic American craft brewing style. This crisp, fruity wheat ale is cloudy, because the yeast has not been filtered out. Bavarian Spalt hops give the ale a crisp elegance, that is not bitter and leaves a clean aftertaste. Cheers!

Situation: a long day of chasing and cleaning cat pee...but cheered by Carrill in Dan in Real Life... Glassware: 23 oz. pilsener... Appearance: head makes a white, rather nicely laced glass; steady effervescence in an orange copper body--but why uncloudy for a hefe? Aroma: light lemon approach; a bit of clove hints out as well; some stro(a)nger elements--and malt? Palate: light bodied (too light?) with a throaty flourish; rather mellow and unassuming... Taste: a rather smooth wheat taste settles on the tongue; not as much fanfare as some other Sam Adams--light lemon sprig and not much else... Overall: enough here to place in the second tier of wheat beers--a good choice at a barbecue if thoughtful folks are stocking the cooler, but definitely not a six-packer...

Not a huge fan of this one had an overall bitterness from the hops and the aftertaste was not what was expected from sam adams. Maybe I got a bad batch but this was not a very good beer

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. The color is golden and hazy. Smells like wheat and has a little head that disappear quickly. I would call this an american wheat rather than a true hefeweizen. Below average for the style. Will not buy again.

Pours to a small white head with limited carbonation. A rather cloudy appearence that is somewhat bland on the taste buds. It has the flavor of drinking hay which isn’t to surprising considering it’s a wheat beer. No bitter aftertaste a plus. No Sam Adams best, but does okay for a Hefeweizen.

Bottle. Poured a hazy dark yellow with a medium sized white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma was full of banana and yeast notes. Flavor was light with sweet bananas and yeast.

Poured the stereotypically cloudy blonde color with a 2-finger white head. Mild aroma of banana esters with an undertone that was kind of peppery. Palate was light, as one would expect from the style. Light lemony taste with a slight pepperyness underneath. Somewhat yeasty up front though. Decent.

12. oz bottle from the Summer Sampler pack lured out of my girlfriend’s mothers basement. Pours a hazy golden pour, decent offwhite head that dies to a very small head, clings. minor lacing. Aromas are lemon, flaked wheat, a touch of skunk, with citrusy feel. Dough/bread. Mediocre, finishes clean, a bit of a citrus and bready stick. A so-so wheat beer that I can do without.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Slightly cloudy gold color with a foamy, white head. Aroma: Light nose with wheat and citric notes. Not much else. Flavor: Wheat, light malt notes, some citrus notes. Simple and not offensive, but nothing to make you come back either. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Overall: A forgetable wheat. Take it or leave it.
