Commercial Description:
A full-bodied English-style Porter, this brew has a substantial roasted malt character. Brewed with traditional English Ale hops and sweetened with Scottish heather honey. The honey balances the spiciness from the hops and the roasted malt character. The beer is finished by dry hopping with English Goldings.

What a bad beer. I hesitated over this purchase, not being a big Sam Adams fan . I should have hesitated even longer--forever. I thought it would be good from it;s pour, a big tan head but the color vas more like coca cola then beer, No honey, no sweetness, not malt. Tasted like medicine. Terrible.

Pours amber, tan head.Aroma and taste, lots of honey and malts. Some light roasted touch. Finish is of light bitter hops, but with enough honey to hider the latter. At times, the honey almost seems to be too much. Tasty beer.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep brown to hazzlenut brown with a diminished off-white head. Mild spiced honey aroma with a light roasted malt base. Mild caramel malty and light roasted with a light chocolate smoothness. Smooth roasted malty and chocolate finish with a light bitterness just showing through.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a lacing tan head. Fruit and flowery honey aroma. Malty caramel flavours with nice flower notes. Well-balanced, semi-dry. Very good.

Bottled. Lasting fine-laced tan head. Dark brown colored body. Toffee-ish malt aroma with fruity tones and a kiss of honey. Moderately sweet malt flavor, dark fruits, chocolate . Discreet honey notes, very nice actually. Loveable beer!

Deep amber/brown pour. Light foamy head light tan/dunn in colour. Strong scent immediately upon opening. Roasted, malty, caramels. Initially somewhat bitter and hoppy but that is faced with some sweetness. Feels like a nice balance at first but then falls appart in the aftertaste. Just a bit off kilter, but still rather nice.
