Commercial Description:
A full-bodied English-style Porter, this brew has a substantial roasted malt character. Brewed with traditional English Ale hops and sweetened with Scottish heather honey. The honey balances the spiciness from the hops and the roasted malt character. The beer is finished by dry hopping with English Goldings.

I am a big fan of Porters and this was a great porter by Sam Adams. It had a nice body, but i didn’t find it too sweet. It’s just a damn shame that they don’t brew this anymore.

Robust aroma of Roasted Malt, Milk Chocolate, hint of Coffee, Honey. Poured a cola brown, very creamy, very big, long lasting off-white head that very, very slowly receded to a nice, thick creamy cap. Very impressive looking. Left heavy lacing. Taste was very robust. Roasted Malt was just right, followed by honey, rich coffee and rich milk chocolate. Rich in taste. Medium body, that was very creamy! Soft carbonation with a long milk chocolate finish. I am a Porter and Stout fan and this one I really enjoyed. I am adding this to my favorite rotation. Samuel Adams did a great job with this. Served in my favorite stein. If you like robust roasted malt, and some sweet honey in your beer then you will love this one.

My favorite porter of all time. No other beer can match the deep honey flavor. How about bringing this beer back as a seasonal...can’t understand why it was discontinued.

12 oz bottle from the new Brewmaster’s 12-pack (it’s no longer retired!). Black body with just slight ruby-red highlights with a half inch of tan head that dissipates slowly leaving a fair bit of lacing. Smells like malt sweetness and honey, though aroma is slightly weaker than I would expect. Taste consists of equal parts roasted malt and honey with a hint of alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. Wow. This beer is fantastic. Easily a new favorite!

This was very good. I loved the hoeny in the aftertaste as well as on the palate. I also love the dark rich color. Not terribly heavy, but rich and tasty. Not good for all day, but a pleasant well rounded drink for an evening.
