SQNfan (477), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Oct 12, 2008 This poured a wonderful copper in color with a moderate head of very fine off-white bubbles. Aromas are of citric hops balanced by semi-sweet caramel malt and a tough of bread dough. The flavors from the nose continue into a medium-bodied beer that is hoppy with good balance. The midpalate and finish are qutie dry from the hops with the malt adding a touch of sweetness to balance the hoppy bitterness. BeerVirgin72 (599), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle. Poured a very pretty burnt orange color. Aroma was wonderful. Very floral and hoppy. Flavor was a big old whammy of HOPS. Some citrus and pine. Very sticky in my mouth. Wayyy too hoppy for me, but I bet it makes you hop heads happy! CoachJT (21), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Oct 11, 2008 Beautiful copper color with a nice solid white head. Nice hoppy aroma. This did not really taste like a pilsner to me, and the mild, nondescipt taste was not what I expected from the nose. I was a touch disappointed with this one, since Sam Adams usually turns out above average beer. ScottB (39), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2008 Poured a gorgeous light copper with a thin head. The first word that entered my mind upon taking my first sip of this beer was, "Wow!" Big, big hops and strong citrus notes exploded in my mouth. Finished up with a nice tangy bitterness and a hint of malt. This is a well-balanced beer. nbutler11 (218), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 10, 2008 Pours a hazy orange color with a creamy off-white head -- much like an IPA. Mild hops on the nose that build in the flavor along with notes of cream, citrus (lemon and orange peel), salt, and a slight amount of yeast. Tasty, but awully dry and out of character for a pilsner.
