jrmac (210), USA Dec 13, 2008 Pours a nice orange color with decent white foam head. Aroma is a bit citrusy and hop. The flavor is fruity at first then glides into an ever increasing dry finish. Very long finish on this beer. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy orangey golden with creamy off-white head. Aroma is restrained with typical Sam Adams fruityness and grainy notes. A hint of fresh peeled potatoes. Not much hop carachter. Big body balanced by a dry bitterness with an acrid sour tang that freshen the beer up. Not at all cloying like some bohemian bock bers. A slight lemony bite in the aftertaste which is surprising seeing no US hops are used in this beer. Awsome dry bitter taste that would be excellent in a DIPA.Really nice. HarmonKill-a-Brew (316), Wilmar, Arkansas, USA Dec 12, 2008 What can I say, a very hoppy beer. Second most hoppy beer I have tried behind Bigfoot Ale. I am not what you would call a hophead, but this is pretty good stuff. bobbo16 (16), Copley, Ohio, USA Dec 12, 2008 Hops are very evident in the aroma and taste. I am an IPA guy and though this pilsner is lighter in it feel than an IPA, the strength of the brew is clear. The german hops are different than what I am used to from some of the more famous hop ales out there. not quite as fruity. The Pilsner aspect almost gets lost in the hops but not quite. Nice. pilsnerrogge (1769), Finspång, Sweden Dec 11, 2008 [BOTTLED] Pours hazy amber with a firm head. Aroma is fruity apricots and hops. Thick, sweet and oily mouthfeel. Loads of hops in this one. Long intense bitterness with some notes of alcohol and salty liquorice. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 10, 2008 Bottle thanks to daknole. Dark hazy honey orange with a finger of creamy smooth white head. Big grassy hop aroma, pale malt sweetness. Taste is lots of malt backbone, almost caramel like, hay and grass zest, then a big hop bitter finish, spicy and grassy hops meld with a light alcohol heat. BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA Dec 8, 2008 Poured cloudy yellow. Aroma of pine hops. Very hoppy taste. Pronounced bitterness. Grapefruit and pine hops dominate. There is some caramel malt as well to balance things out, but this is primarly a hop intense experience. I am not a hop-head, but there was enough balance here for me to try it again.
