| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Definitely not white in color, very cloudy with a thin head. Citrusy aroma. Full bodied to the point it reminded me of a sweetened syrup. Not a fav of mine. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Doesn’t look "white" - clear amber with a large fizzy off-white head, in fact. Aroma of booze, wildflowers, nice toasty malt, and yeast. Taste - like a light very simple quad, really - spicy, sweet caramel malt, yeast, alcohol - maybe some fried bananas in there too - not bad, not much like a witbier. Thick, sticky/boozy mouthfeel, decent carbonation, gets almost cloying spicy/sweet by the end of the glass. Actually a tasty beer, would be a great winter warmer ... but a little strong, and no complexity whatsoever. yesyouam (602), Fairport, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Samuel Adams Imperial White is a cloudy, dim peachy amber ale with a very thin, dense white head that leaves tenacious, thick sheets of lacing on the glass. There is a lot of alcohol in the nose. It smells tangy, fruity and spicy. Banana is present. It’s quite full bodied, very smooth and dry. It’s a touch chalky at the finish. It’s a touch sweet and very fruity. It dries up through the taste and gets spicier and boozier. It’s sort of like a Wheatwine, or an ale version of a Weizenbock. yespr (12404), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Lots of spices, coriander and even pepper notes. Drank in San Diego. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
