| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Slightly hazy, light copper color. White head that thins quickly. Nose is primarily corriander and orange peel. Taste is heavy corriander, pancake, and alcohol. Unusually slippery palate for a white ale. Thick and syrupy for the style. I don’t like the corriander flavor much in my beer but was intrigued enough to try this one. I like the other imperial series offerings from Sam Adams. This isn’t a bad beer, but just not great. It actually goes down pretty easily for being so high in alcohol. CamdenD (617), Madrid, Spain

A good deal stronger than Southampton’s, this beer does well to remain drinkable. Unfortunately its mouth feel is greasy and sweet. Color is amber. troopie (903), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Bottle. Pooured veldheuning brown with thick lasting white head. Much lacing. Aroma of spice, caramel and orange. Flavour is very unbalanced, too much caramel and spice, strong taste of alcohol. Much alcohol in the finish. This began much better than it ended. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of alcohol and spice. Looks like Dogfish 120. Tastes like a really heavy Sam’s Summer Ale. Heavy beer but really not that bad. Interesting. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is light mat/bready, secondary orange, spice. Taste is sweet/sticky light/medium malt-bready, spice-coriander/pepper, orange, alcohol. Interesting. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2009 12 oz. Lightly hazy and deep orange-copper with a lasting quarter inch of creamy foam. Earth-spiced toffee and dark-fruit vinous nose, with a bit of spicy citrus. Flavor is same mix on the front with some orange and nutmeg notes, then finishes barely dry with some alcohol and peppery-wood notes. Medium-heavy body is silky smooth and just watery enough to keep from being syrupy. Nice dessert/sippin’ beer. guyinchicago (535), marengo, Illinois, USA
