Commercial Description:
Sam Adams Imperial White pushes the boundaries of a witbier. While the brew delivers orange and coriander notes typical of a witbier, it has a bigger mouthfeel and body. It is truly a unique brew.

Pours a slight cloudy dark amber with not to much of a frothy white head. Aromas of caramel, bread, coriander, and a touch of orange. The flavor was actually impressive to note. First of all this is Sam Adams, a mass producer of micro brews, and secondly I’ve never had a brew from them that struck me as impressive. There is a smooth thickness about it with notes of bread, coriander, nut, a little hint of orange, and caramel. Its malty and not spicy much at all as with a lot of "White" beers, which I dislike. My only qualm here is that there is a little alcohol that comes through. The average score for this beer is to low indefinitely. One of the few beers I’m glad I purchased from Sam.

12 oz bottle-cloudy orange pour w/no head. Sweet boozy aroma. Sweet Witbier flavor up front w/a lot of orange peel, colander & pepper spice. Had a thick chewy mouthfeel to it; I could tell it was strong not so much from the taste, which was surprisingly smooth, but from the texture. Kind of like drinking a very sweet Barley Wine. Was actually quite drinkable. I was just expecting a witbier when I bought this; got a lot more. Very enjoyable.

12 oz. bottle served in trappist glass- poured partly transparnet when held to a light source, dark amber-orange in color, razor thin white wisps atop the liquid surface for a head, low carbonation. Aroma of booze, honey, blood oranges, and notes of coriander and floral hops. Hits the mouth with a wide body with alot depth, malt is there and has sweetness laced with it, various spices come in the middle, finish is solid and stays around like an unwanted house guest for weeks on end. Very well done- not quite to style, but well done. No love from anyone here but me- looks like more for me, suckas!

Bottle. Pours a translucent honey golden with a large head. Aromas of orange, honey, coriander, toffee, coffee. Mouthfeel is wild, very thick, on the lines of a good imperial stout. Orange and coffee come out on top, with some light floral malty notes. Really impressed with this one.

Initial flavor is fairly sweet with hints of citrus. I hadn’t been able to place it but the aroma does smell a lot like bubblegum. The finish tastes very much of alcohol and is moderately bitter. Overall better than most Samuel Adams, but not exceptional.

Very impressed by the appearance of this, surprised was more like it. Hazy, light orange, some white head, nice lacing pattern. Classic oranges and coriander nose along with a bit of booze. Bit of booze upfront in the palate too. Nice stick doppel/dubbel feel. Some butterscotch, malt. I really liked it, nice job Sammy!
