| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Appearance: A hazy, cloudy light iced-tea clor. A thin, tight knit layer of suds sits atop.
Aroma: Bazooka Buble Gum or Dubble Bubble from a far. Upon closer investigation, I can smell a bit of wheaty grain, but mostly fruity bubble gummy yeast.
Taste: Bananas, bubble gum, caramel, and a dose of bitter hops in the middle and finish.
Mouthfeel: Thick, almost syrupy.
Overall: Too sweet and heavy to drink more than one of these ever. I’ll give a nod to the 10.3 % abv. scottw86 (184), Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Poured a hazy orange/brown with a medium stable white head. Aroma was very sweet with hints of apricot and orange. Maybe some wheat in the aroma as well. Taste is slightly fruity and sweet and starts off creamy. Finish is strong of hops and alcohol. I wasn’t sure what I would think of an imperial white, because whites are usually refreshing and not too strong. This turned out OK, but it’s not that refreshing with the alcohol taste. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Cloudy orange, with medium beige head. Aroma is spice, alc, hairspray, big orange peel, clove. Orange, sweet caramel malt, alc, hairspray again, almost balanced but hairspray on the finish kind of wins out. Medium to full, creamy body. There are things that I really like about this beer and others that I don’t quite think hit the mark. Overall much more drinkable than then imp. double bock. hogan873 (334), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Beautiful orange amber body with a foamy off-white head. Coriander, orange, and some spice (cinnamon, clove?) on the aroma. Very heavy and creamy mouthfeel, truly unlike many other beers. Dark fruit, wheat, and orange flavor along with alcohol warming. Finishes rather clean. A good beer that may have just a touch too much alcohol flavor. Tejas (703), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2009 So, their Imp Witte is stronger than the Imp Stout? That seems weird but whatever. Lots of flavor and spices but to much alcohol flavor doesn’t make it refreshing which is what I look for in a Witte. forsides (86), union, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2009 massive rich creamy head on top of an orange/amber translucent brew. nose has that wheat tang, with orange and coriander notes. body is nice and thick for a wheat beer. creamy with a decent balance of wheat, orange and coriander, and hops, finished with a slight alcohol burn down the back of the throat. strong aftertaste. decent brew, and the highest alc % Imp Wit i’ve seen out there. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Pours a nice copper orange with a nice foamy, off-white head. Aroma of citrus. Crisp, clean citrusy orange wheat taste with a nice clean finish. Damn good beer. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 25, 2009 Bought a single bottle. My impression was like a thinner, carbonated Cointreau. Orange flavours throughout. You can tell there’s alcohol in it, but if someone had served it to me I wouldn’t have guessed 10%. Hard to take more than a small sip at a time - the biggest of the big beers, especially for a Wit.
