Flat sweetish yeasty aroma of sweet oranges, biscuit and mild corinader. Medium-bodied with yeaty flavours of mild ornages, peas and almonds. Yeasty finish with notes of peas, and coriander. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Bottle from Wegman’s. Pours an ever-so-slightly hazy copper color with a stable, white head. Aroma of cloves, sweet malt, and alcohol; spicy. Medium bodied but silky smooth, super malty and sweet. Spices shine here; stars are anise and cloves. Candied orange finish. Very rich, very far from a traditional wit. Kudos to BBC for trying something different. BREWMUSKCLES (1075), New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2009 IMPRESSIVE in its vegetable wheat aroma followed by an orange citrus like citron on a fruitcake perfume. aroma comes thru in the taste and i find it demonstrative and among the very best wheats i have ever tasted. looks great, substantive and slippery it is deep orange and pours like nectar with a nice white head. settles nicely into an aged like old ale yet remains a wheat and a wheat to be remembered. spices so recessed here just great brewing and recipe so apparent i could go on and on about this one...somewhat surprised and a must try! dnstone (209), Mons, Belgium
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Pours a golden/oranange. Sweet, malty smelling, you can tell its a sam by the scent. Also sweet and very malty for a white with a noticable alcohol finish. The palate is smooth and almost sryupy. I had one closer to room temp and didn’t care for it, but a second chance at a cooler temp was more enjoyable. freekyp (901), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2009 Now that’s a big wheat beer. Takes a different direction than the other couple imperial whites I’ve had, focusing on a big round almost cloying malty sweetness. Aroma shows the usual coriander and orange with a big waft of sweet malt that comes across as cherry. Looks great with a fluffy sticky off white head and a very cloudy orange body. Alcohol is very evident. Hops finally show up near the end of the swallow with a lightly bitter smack that has a hard time cutting through the ample malt. Good, but overly sweet. thechandler (270), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Pours a cloudy caramel-orange. Creamy head. Aroma is bold and citrusy. Flavor is fruity, and strong. This beer could certainly pass for a Belgian. Strong, sweet, orange-plum hints. Delicious. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 23, 2009 aroma of very sweet malt, alcohol and caramel - hazy copper pour with tight white lacy foam - the first taste that hits you is the alcohol which is followed by a very sweet malty/brown sugar/candied apple taste. Lingering aftertaste is almost that of a caramel apple. Too sweet for my taste, I like the other Sam Adams Imperials a lot more than this one. Rynoplasty (536), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
