beachbum25 (597), Powellville, Maryland, USA Apr 6, 2008 12 oz bottle-poers a deep ruby/mahogany color w/a moderate off white head & good lacing. Rich aromas of roasted malt. Flavors of roasted malt, nuts, toffee, & caramel; has a nice malt bite to it. Has a touch of bitter hops in the finish. Full, creamy mouthfeel, I really enjoyed this one, a good every day drinker.
mcjay (31), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Sep 7, 2008 Kind of an Irish Ale Produced for the massed, but not bad. Deep amber with a tan head. Malty as expected. Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 3, 2008 Pours a reddish colro with an off white head. Aroma is fairly mlaty with a hint of hops and some metal. Flavor is maltier than the aroma, also with a not soo great metalic finish. BlockBrew (83), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours a dark amber red with small off white head. Aroma of roasted malts. Flavor or sweet caramel malts with a touch of honey. A nice bread and hop finish. Medium body. Overall better than expected. themightyomega (65), USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle: pours lovely clear deep reddish brown, like mahogany wood, creamy beige head. Major aroma is of floral hops, with a faint stale bread mustiness.
Flavor is predominantly caramel malt, with a faint hint of musty hops bitterness with a sort of short-lived dusty aftertaste. Better than I make it sound here! Good texture, mouth coating and smooth.
Upper midrange beer, in my opinion. tgncc (249), Bellmore, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 Nice aroma, mainly of caramel malts. Maybe a slight aroma of bread dough. The appearance is attractive, a translucent red, with persistent off-white head. The flavor is sweet caramel, malty, slight hoppiness for balance. The palate leaves a moderate hop signature. Good beer overall. Godd session ale.
