Taste is of malt, fruit, alcohol and caramel. Similar, but lighter aroma. Rather thin. Reminds me of George Killians. Decent, but for the price it isn’t worth it at all.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Has a dark, rusty red color coupled with a thin cream head. A soft hop aroma greets the nose followed by flavors of apple and caramel. The body is on the thin side and a bit too watery. However, the tingling, dry finish is quite excellent. The ale’s balance of sweetness in the malts and bitterness in the hops is well executed. Overall, a good beer that feels like it had potential to be even better. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Earthy toasted brown sugar and ripe fruit aroma. Toasted caramel brown sugar with sweet cranberry juice fruitiness and earthy medium bitter hop finish. Medium body. My first Irish ale rating. Guess, I’ll try to avoid them in the future. Oddefellowe (38), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Bottle. Much better then Killians Red. Love the malt hop balance. Wonderful and tasty. Smells like killians with just a little less bitterness. Dark amber color like one would expect. Great beer.
