ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 10, 2008 Poured with an excessive head. I think the beer is a little too warm. (about 45 degrees) Off white head that is just staying there. Great deep amber/red color. Mildy fruity very malty nose. Taste is all malt then just a slight floral hop and a clean finish. Very good beer. Best I have had of this style.
MaltDawg (369), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2008 12 oz bottle from mix pack. Earthy hop with touch of fruitiness over roast and caramelized malts. Clear deep ruby with moderate off-white head. Big caramelized malt flavor with some dark sugar and moderate bitterness. Medium body and mouthfeel. Relatively dry bitter finish. Nicely balanced. A bit robust for the style but tasty. edden (923), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 10/6/08: Bottle. Copper colored body. Aroma of dirt (earth) and malt. Flavor is malty and hoppy with a hit of hazelnut and nutmeg. Finish is bitter. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2008 Deep garnet color. Fizzy khaki head. Honey, and caramel. A tad too thin, however its very drinkable zach8270 (1421), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 5, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Copper in color with a thin and creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of caramel and honey. Flavor is lightly sweet at the beginning with hints of honey, caramel, and lots of sweet malts. Finishes clean and a bit dry with some light hoppy notes. rman18 (174), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA Oct 4, 2008 A dark red color witha small head. Has a caramel flavor but isn’t sweet. I couldn’t taste any hops but could taste earthy tones.
