Commercial Description:
Created by Ken Smith, Colorado. Ken describes his brew as having "a refreshing light taste and cereal crispness from the wheat malt." This unfiltered ale has a rich, fresh fruitiness balanced by a citrus note from the Noble hops.

A Golden yellow body, slight haze, ton of streamers, and a small but durable head made this to be quite a good looking beer. The smell clearly showed off the berries, but it was not overly syrupy. The taste seemed very sweet at first sip, but as I drank more, I liked it better. The spicy hop presence provide a good counter balance to the fruit juice. The body was light, and the mouthfeel quite crisp. Finish was a bit cool-aid like. It’s been a while since I’ve had Cherry Wheat from Sam Adams, but this is a little better IIRC.

Great aroma, nice flavor and a high carbonation made this a very lively, fun beer to drink. I always dislike the artificial fruit flavors, but this one wasn’t too bad. Definitely would be a great beer to have in the summer

Bottle from Ross. Pours hazy orange amber with a big pale golden, off white head. Big aroma of perfume, kool aid powder, berries, and wheat malt. Light texture and mouthfeel, without feeling watery. Actually very nice. Initial flavor of blackberries, but with a slight artificial taste. The middle has a pleasant soft wheat maltiness, which moves to a mildy tart, but clean crisp finish. Not to bad, but I would have preferred a little more wheat malt backbone. Plus there was a subtle artificial element to it that was nagging me, like what I find in yogurt. Like the Dortmunder, I bet Boston Beer Company took some liberties in stepping up the recipe for commercial production. I bet the homebrew version is much better.

From a 12 oz. distinctive embossed bottle with a notched freshness date along the left side of front label, a blurb on the back label, sampled at cellar temperature in a pint glass. Poured a hazy orangey golden with a frothy, rocky, bubbly topped white head, good retention, small amount of laced sticking. Big tart berry aroma with powdery graininess, a light whiff of cereal, very fresh smelling. Good even carbonation and a crisp, dryish, velvety smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. From the aroma I worried that this was going to be a berry bomb, but thankfully it’s not, quite balanced, a good wheaty graininess, softly tart berries, citrus hops that add a nice sourness to the tart sweetness, and a dryish grainy finish with the berries lingering in the palate. Normally I’m not a fan of fruit beers, but this has a balanced taste and creamy body, well done, highly quaffable.

Very good beer. Delicious fruity aroma. One of the best fruit beers I’ve ever had, it is drinkable, normally fruit beers make me nauseas after the first one, the fruit isn’t overwhelming. Nice subtle fruity aftertaste. My biggest problem is that the beer tastes a bit watered down. All in all I like it though.

Bottle. Enjoy before: 06/07. Pours a muddy rust color with a smallish near-white head. Very pungent, fruity aroma. Smells like Fruity Pebbles and juicy berries. Thin to medium-bodied. Sweet maltiness and berry sweetness start things off. Just a little tart with hints of citrus. Finishes wheaty and kinda crisp. Not too shabby.

What an honor for the Sam Adams employee who got his recipe featured in this brew and his face on the label! Smells like Koo-laid with no discernible wheat aspect. Plenty of aroma but doesn’t taste overly authentic. Hazy yellow with a large, billowy white head. Excellent lace. Softly carbonated. Very good. Bready. Sweetness is cut by wheat. Excellent mouthfeel. A very nice brew and one that they should keep in circulation. Underrated. Thanks RedDogDale for getting me this brew.

12 oz. bottle a gift from BockyHorsey - Pours a hazy golden color with a one finger thick white head. Light spotty lacing. Has a slightly stale, boysenberry aroma. Has a berry flavor. Light to medium body. Smooth palate. A decent Fruit/Wheat beer. Thanks Bill.
