Not too overpowering berry flavor. Very smooth, no after taste. Good dessert, or summer salad beer. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Bottle Hazy yellow pour with white creamy head. Very intense fruity aroma, almost smells like some sort of grape candy. Huge aroma. Some of the fruit flavor carries to the flavor, but not too much. Most flavor is citrus and wheat, but still some definite berry. Clean finish, pretty good brew. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a white head. Strong boysenberry nose, light wheat - smells just like the boysenberry puree they put in the bottom of Breyer’s yogurt, not fake or chemically. Fresh boysenberry flavors, light citrus hop and mild wheat. I really like this! Well done, Mr. Smith! jzzbassman (852), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2007 I usually dislike Wheat/ fruit beers, but this was a pleasant surprise. BIG fruit aroma, but for a nice change one that carries over to the flavor. Slightly artificial flavor that brings to mind Trix cereal, but pleasant nonetheless. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2007 I have never experienced boysenberries except as syrup at IHOP. I assume that this is the typical smell, but I will describe it more like blueberries since I know that scent. There is also a sour hint of blue cheese behind the strong fruit. The body is hazy dark gold and orange. The taste has some rich berry notes with some bits of orange citrus creeping in the finish. The mouthfeel is surprisingly full. A pretty nice fruit wheat. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Very pale, murky golden color. It really smells nice, bouquet of boysenberry very obvious. Very refreshing, tastes exactly as advertised. Almost too sweet, but I could drink a lot of this very fast. sfhc21 (74), Midlothian, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Bottle. Very nice brew. Just the right amount of boysnberries. Not too strong. Not too light. Just right. jhumphries69 (736), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Pours a light, cloudy gold with a sudsy, lacey, thick, nearly-white head. The aroma has a little what, a little yeast, and hints of lemony citrus - but is dominated by the smell of berries - boysenberries, blueberries, and a hint of pomegranate. The flavor starts off very wheaty, with a hint of hops and a healthy dose of tart berry. The crisp carbonation tickles the middle of the tongue, along with more wheat and a more subdued berry flavor. The back of the tongue picks up some balancing hops flavors, more tingles from the carbonation, and lots more wheat. The finish is dry and full of wheat with more subtle nods to the berries. The after-taste is mostly of wheat, but some hops and berries, too. The mouthfeel is medium in body and quite bubbly. Overall, this is a very good fruit beer.
