Distinct berry aroma reminds me of a Celestial Seasoning tea (although not sure if it boysenberry) ;-) Slightly cloudy golden colour, Some rice flavor, very light finish, not horrible but there are better fruit beers out there. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2007 The best way I can describe this beer is "chewy" -- it has an exceptional, lingering palate. The aroma blows you away at first with the ripe boysenberry flavor, but I didn’t mind that fruity sweetness. This is a great beer to have with dinner or as an after dinner drink, but it is a little too sweet to have more than one in a row. It’s easy to see why this was an award winner. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Moderately hazy yellow with a creamy, white head; head becomes a medium-sized ring and leaves a tiny bit of lacing. Aroma is sharply sweet, sugary berry, honey, citrus, bread, and hops. Flavor exudes a lot of berry; bready and wheaty; light hops in the finish. Medium body; very lightly sticky on the lips. One of the best fruit beers I’ve had to date; fruity but not fake; mellow and bready; a nice spring beer. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | Mar 11, 2007 The berries in this beer actually contributed to an awful initial soapy flavor. This tones down after a few swallows. This beer represents everything I hate. Comprehensively goofy. cigarsnbeer (146), Valley City, North Dakota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Pours a nice white head, with a cloudy pale yellow color, says unfiltered....but I’m more than a little skeptical. Sweet boysenberry, almost artifical flavor. wheaty and light, if you’re a fan of fruit beers this may be for you....but its not my cup of boysenberry tea. Hangover (768), Atlanta, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Murkey orange pour with a huge and frothy white head. I have no idea what a boysenberry is, but this brew has a nice fruity aroma, kind of like a tart blueberry. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy leading to, *surprise*, a fruity taste. There is some wheat in there, but barely. OK, it’s one-dimensional but it was good!! jimhilt (1682), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Pours a two finger white head that fades to a lumpy layer leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium-strong carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet fruity nose. Flavor sweet boysenberry, hops are balancing, clean finish. Would make a good summer beer. $7.49 6-pak, 12oz bottle from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH.
