Commercial Description:
Created by Ken Smith, Colorado. Ken describes his brew as having "a refreshing light taste and cereal crispness from the wheat malt." This unfiltered ale has a rich, fresh fruitiness balanced by a citrus note from the Noble hops.

Pours hazy golden with a medium lasting head. Aroma is boysenberries... obviously. Flavor is very strong on the boysenberries, perhaps a little too strong. I like my fruit beers with just a hint of that fruit flavor. Light and refreshing. A quality brew.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of boysenberries (reminiscent of Clearly Canadian). Flavor of malty breadiness, wheat, nuts, and berries.

(bottle) Cloudy golden body with creamy off-white head. Lots of lace. A good looking beer. Aroma is mostly sweet berry - I’m not sure what a boysenberry smells like, but this reminds me of blueberries and raspberries. Thin bodied, a lot of carbonation on the tongue. Flavor is berries (I guess boysenberries). Slightly tart/acidic. Wheat is there but barely perceptible. Overall, the flavor is a little one-dimensional, and the body is too watery.

Smells and tastes like liquid crunch berry cereal. Smell of boysenberry is much stronger than the taste. Interesting, and I’ve never had anything quite like it.

12oz Bottle 2006 release: Slightly hazy golden pour with a thin white head. The aroma is assertive and artificial berries. Similiar to the scented markers from kindergarten, berry airfreshener or shampoo-like. Sharp artificial flavor as well. Perfumy fruityness which doesn’t seem at all natural. Chalky and strange. The finish is medicinal and chemical like. This didn’t work well for me.

Very nice light berry aroma. Golden yellow in color with a full palate for a wheat. Solid berry flavor with a light taste overall. Nothing wrong with this one.
