Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Carissa Sweigart. Brewed with ingredients signature to Carissa’s home of Massachusetts this Cranberry Wit is spiced with a blend of cinnamon, orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise, and finished with a touch of cranberry. This bright, fruity and refreshing brew is reminiscent of an autumn day in New England.

The Pour is a cloudy amber with a big sudsy white head. The aroma has highlights of coriander and citrus. The cranberry flavor is much more subtle than I had expected it to be. The coriander and cinnamon are nice complements, the wheat character is not masked by the additional flavors. I’m not a big fruit beer guy, but this is enjoyable. The carbonation on this is a bit too much. But a good brew.

Hazy straw amber body with a tall vanilla head. Aroma of lemon, orange, pepper, and coriander. Taste has notes of orange peel, coriander, white pepper, wheat, and subtle cranberry. The elements work together really well here. The cranberry is noticed, but nobody will mistake this for an Ocean-Spray.

Made by a Sam Adam employee. I wonder if this was good at any point. Pours a hazy orange red brown color. Medium sized soapy off white head. Nose is mostly socks and paper bag if there is any dominant flavor. Tastes like cream of wheat and a hint of perfume...grains of paradise?? I don’t taste most the ingredients. I can’t tell if Sam Adams is screwing up what was once good beers, or if they are just picking bullshit. Sigh.

Pours a murky yellow-orange with some soft white foam. This thing smells more like a pumpkin beer than cranberries. Tastes the same. What the hell? Big and doughy with prickly carbonation. I don’t know. This is an odd beer.

Pours cloudy maize with a nice sticky white head. Nose is heavy with cranberry, but this does not ruin in the flavor. The berry is not heavy handed, and it blends well with the light wheat malt ending with a slightly slick mouthfeel, and and increasingly tart finish. Nice, but fruit beers are not my cup of wit.

Bottle. Hazy amber beer with pinkish tones and a nice cream-colored head. Yeast and light spice aroma with light wheat/malt. yeasty, light cranberry flavor with wheat and light spice. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Wheat and light cranberry lingers with light spice. Different and interesting.
