Commercial Description:
Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt." Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

This is the 3rd of the longshot sam adams brew that I have tried and this is definitely my least favorite. Very bubbly in the glass but really not too much of a head. It has a pretty good taste at first and than you get an aftertaste in the back of your throat which I can’t quite describe and don’t really care for. Other than that, not a bad brew

pale lager color. minimal head. i hear this is on par with the style but this style sucks. a bunch of malty yeasty nonsense with slight hop mixed in. it is definitely a better alternative to BMC

A deep amber color with a nice head. This was a nice lager with a easy todrink flavor. A lot like the big 3 brews out there. A slightly high malty aroma and flavor to this beer. A lot of bready type characters. Not bad but not the best.

Bottle. Gold color with a white head. A cheesy, biscuit kind of taste. Decent.

Light gold, with a slight haze and a massive, billowy, white head. Malt aroma dominates, with perhaps a bit of hops. Heavy, sweet and a little bit grainy. Finishes a bit sweet and long.

Smells pretty bad, but tastes a lot like SA lager with an extra heaping of malt. I think this is actually a pretty good beer for everyday drinking. The bitterness is nice and hoppy, so you get to enjoy both the sweet malt and the floral hops. All around, could be better balanced, but achieves grandly its simple aims.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverages, 12 oz bottle - part of a mixer. Medium golden pour, light white head. Grainy, grassy aroma, hint of fresh lake water. Flavor is rather drab, pick up some yeasty notes, hint of grain, and some bland lager flavor. Mouthfeel is thick enough to hold my interest. True to style for a Helles, just not all that exciting.
