Commercial Description:
Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt." Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

Poured a lightly hazed yellow color with a thin off-white head. Malty semi-sweet aroma with diacetyl notes. Malty sweet start to the flavor but short finish. Light to medium body. Mild bitter finish.

Clear pale golden body, fizzy active pour, but alas such a small head. The smell was a mix of sour grains and hops and felt odd when compared to the clean nose exhibited by Pilsners that are typically of the same hue. The taste was grainy and airy and had a hint of garlic (?!), and the aftertaste was caramelized. The mouthfeel was creamy and soft, reminding me a lot of a cream ale. I am new to this Dortmunder Export style, but I find the juxtaposition of the flavors quite odd. Passable for a sunny afternoon, but not the one I will seek out.

Nice pour, a rich golden body with a creamy two-fingered head. The aroma is bready with a light grassy bitterness. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Tastes like warm buttered biscuits with an herbal bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Light golden lager, small splotchy slightly off white head. Good helles aroma of buiscuity malts and slight hop. Soft tasting , of bread and malts, small hop undertones at first ,emerge in the end to give a pleasing bitter aftertaste. Smooth , and the palte is quite lush for style, lowish carbonation. An easy drinker.

Pours clear and light golden with a mostly receding off-white head. Aroma of sweet pale malt, diacetyl, and crackers. Taste is lightly bready, sweet pale malt, and diacetyl. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation. Some flaws, but still drinakble. This should have been lagered several months longer, but obviously there are time constraints in a commercial operation.

Poured a light golden color with a large white head and good lacing. Aroma was of hops and a very musty aroma. Flavor was along the same lines good balance to it. Authentic German aftertaste too. Amazing for someones home brew.

Clear yellow with a medium head. Good lacing. Aroma is doughy with pale malt and grass/floral hops. Flavor has more pronounced bitterness to balance the sweetness. Unique flavor. One I might get used to, eventually.
