Commercial Description:
Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt." Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

Aroma is very simple - smells like "Beer", I guess it’s a malty aroma with a bit of citrus. The appearance is gold, with a head with nice lacing. Buttery palate, with the tiniest bit of hops coming through at the end. Dang that contest is a neat thing.

12oz Bottle: Clear orangey golden pour with a white film for head. Simple buttery malt aroma, with some honeyish sweetness and light grassy hop hint. Bubbly & sharp carbonation on the tongue. Sweet, slightly syrupy maltyness. Hints of caramel, almondy cereal notes and a very grassy long bitterness in the finish. Simple, and a bit sweet for the style in my opinion.

I am no expert in the dortmunder style, but this was a refreshing beer. Slight hoppy character, combined with corn flavor, and a touch of honey. This would make a great lawnmower beer.
