Commercial Description:
Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt." Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

Light malt and yeast aroma--pleasant. Transparent golden in color with a decent head. Medium palate leads to mostly yeasty flavors. Very light taste--not a lot of flavor overall--but easy to drink.

Golden color, clear, with a fluffy white head. Light malty aroma, little hops, flower and honey. Biscuit and bready malts, balanced with a light bitterness. This beer improves substantially as it warms. Very clean and well made, and a rare example of a Sam Adams brewed beer that lacks that indescribable yet distinguishing Sam taste. Best of the Longshot series, and I would take this over the Boston Lager (which I like) any day. Subtle yet delightful.

Sparkling gold, creamy white head. Nose held delicate notes of grains, biscuit, florals, and caramel. Similar flavors with a mild sazzy hop grassy floral tone gaining counterbalance with soft toasty caramel notes. Light to medium bodied, light carbonation, softly bittersweet finish. For the style, it’s nicely done from top to bottom...

(bottle) Clear, bright golden body with tall off-white head. Aroma has sugar, malt, bread, floral hops, and a hint of fruitiness. The taste is sweet with malt character upfront, but also some fruit (apples, maybe something else), and just a little hop bitterness on the back. Medium bodies; sticky mouth-feel. A delightful balance.

A thin white head adorns a crystal-clear golden beer. The aroma is of fruity, flowery hops, light malt and perhaps cereal. It’s medium bodied with a chalky afterfeel. It starts slightly sweet and finishes fairly bitter and almost salty. It has a pretty long aftertaste. Reminds me of malt liquor. Not really my thing.

Pours to a nice dark golden body with lively carbonation and a creamy white head. The aroma is grainy silage that smells pretty crisp and clean. To style and very aromatic. The flavor is extremely toasty cookies. Crisp cereal grains and has a nice biscuit quality. The palate has that tart, lively, lager feel. Medium bodied and nicely textured. Bitter hops to boot. Very well done.

Pours a half shade darker than macro yellow with a white, slightly above macro head. The nose is sweet, definitely not macro, but closing in on malt liquor, but certainly actually smells drinkable. A little bready, and a little syrupy. No balancing bitterness. In the mouth this is completely watery, with low carbonation and just enough substance. In line with the lager expectations for sure. The flavor profile is a bit better. Sweet, again, almost sickly, but there are some toasty to caramel elements that bring in some balance and the subtlest bit of floral german-style hops. This finish is slightly spicey, The aftertaste is sickly sweet. The alcohol is detectable, though this is a relatively average ABV brew.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear golden pour with a puffy white head. Aroma is dry and grainy with some grass, hops, and some bread. Flavor is light on the palate with a good hop taste mixed with a light touch of malts and grass. Very clean. Thin bodied and very fizzy.
