Commercial Description:
Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt." Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

Poured see through yellow with white head. Aroma of some fruit and hops. Taste was crisp and refreshing but very light. Hops and a sweet malt flavor present but minimal.

this beer is a clear winner! does not smell like much...but the tase is complex and the body and carbonation is nice. there is a chalkiness to the finish that could use a little work, but man i like this beer. all good mildly fruity flavor and perfectly moderate carbonation. nice hop profile throughout the taste. stingy german with the american style hop resiny flowery piney touch. you’re wife did us all a favor! just touch sweet, fruity hoppy with a nice mild malt body this pale is different and good. lasting finish that you don’t mind having around.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy with a frothy top white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated golden brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty dough and grassy. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops sweet and mildly vinous. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Pretty average stuff. Beautiful golden pour, crystal clear, with huge soapy head. Simple flavor, sweet malts, floral hops, bitter finish. Average mouthfeel, about right for a Dortmunder export.

Bottle from HEB. Pours golden yellow with an off-white head. Tastes of slightly stale bread and dry malt. Slight hop bitterness, no real bite. Finishes with a slight sweet tinge. This beer is not hitting well with me for the style, but maybe I’ve had too many helles in Deutschland.

rating from notes: from a mixed pack’ pours a creamy golden in color with smells of yeasts some floral hops, and sweetness. taste is thick, some caramel sweetness, flowers, yeasts, and citrus. a well done beer but not my favorite from the three.

Translucent goldenrod in color with a beautiful, creamy orange tinted head that smothers the top. The aroma catapults out of the glass, with golden corn chex, starch, sweetened corn flakes, a touch of rutabaga skin and a hint of minerals. Flavor comes in dryer and more bitter than expected. A starchy, mineral like baguette fills in the gaps with a little too much baking powder. The creamy head lapses in but the flavor behind it sings starch, toasted potato crisps and laundry flavored cornmeal. Dryer and creamier and more bitter than you bargain for, ringing like maize filled in with semi-sweetened oat flakes in the end.

This offering from the SA longshot series pours a clear golden color leaving a frothy white head that is thick and sticks to the glass. The aroma is very inviting, golden raisins, honey, wheat, faint bready aroma, crisp grass notes. The taste is wonderful, honey, malty biscuit, floural, raisins, this is a great beer. The the feeling on the palate is crisp, refreshing, dry but mouth watery if that makes sense. The finish is faintly hot and spicy but goes down very smooth. Another winner from the Longshot 6 pack!
