Pours mid-golden, fairly bright, with moderate carbonation under a thick white head that laces well. Pale malt and Saaz pair equally in the aroma, but the overall impression is dry and stale with some burnt edges. Sweetbreads are tempered by herbal hops in the flavor, mid-bodied leading to a clean finish. Satisfying yet refreshing.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 7, 2007 Darker golden pour, small white head. Big caramel and butterscotch malty sweetness with crisp noble hops in the finish leaving a mild bitterness. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2007 Nose that hints at spiced hops and flowers. Pours a sparkling clover honey amber. The nice tight head is the whitest I’ve seen in a while, mostly lasting, and leaves thing halos of lace down the side of my glass. Wow! This brew is exceptionally well balanced as any good Dortmunder should be. The middle has a moderate acidic bite, the toasty finish is noteworthy. The medium body is dry and lively. An excellent representation of one of my favorite and most revered styles. This longshot contest for home brewers is a brilliant idea; and just another reason to love Boston Brewing. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 First beer out of the Longshot series. Popped it open with my brother as we watched the Warriors beat the Mavericks in the 1st round!! The beer had a sweet honey-like aroma, light lemons and some biscuits. Flavor was sweet, light grassy hops, slightly spicy, and highly drinkable. Excellent job! POD (198), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2007 Bottle. Poured golden brown with no head. Very slight aroma of malt and hops. Full bodied mouthfeel with malts swirling throughout. Bitter aftertaste that doesn’t linger too long. Nice "home brew" recipe worthy of getting a long shot exposure to the mass market.
