Jun 28, 2009 Pours a cloudy deep orange color with an even slightly off-white head. Aroma is a mix of muddy hops, hay, and alcohol. The taste is very earthy and hoppy, kind of reminiscent of 90 minute, maybe just a tad less sweet. Decent, perhaps may turn some of the wider beer-drinking populace to the DIPA style.

Jun 28, 2009 Hazy amber color with an off-white head leaving good lacing. Grapefruit, pine, and a lot of grassy aromas in the nose with a little bit of a caramel undertone. Taste is of sweet caramel malt, a touch of grain, and then a bunch of pine and grass. Medium body with medium carbonation. Pretty good beer. I’d drink this again, but just seems to have a bit too much maltiness for my liking.

Jun 27, 2009 Pours opaque golden copper with a halo of a cream colored head. Nose is pine, grapefruit, citrus rind and a touch of bready malt. Flavor is quite spicy and bitter, with some rind and a bit of caramel. Smooth on the palate with a lasting bitter finish.

Jun 24, 2009 Pours from 12 oz bottle a cloudy dark orange amber with a lively, sudsy, white head. Nose is no surprise--big and hoppy. Flavour shows floral and citrus hops at first, then a strong resin initially transitions to rich bready malts and underlying citrus/floral/grass hop taste, sour grapefruit and caramel come into the very bitter finish. A nice surprise from Boston Beer, lets see what they do with it....

Jun 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber, small, fine off-white head. Aroma is right away pine and some subtle citrus notes. Citrus (grapefruit, orange), malt and a touch of pepper in the background. Finish is bitter, but not as much as some in this category.

Jun 23, 2009 Best thing I have had from a not so great brewery. Very refreshing and drinkable for a beer this strong. Lots of orange in this. Not as bitter as expected, well balanced. Crisp, dry finish. Powerful flavor and aroma. Strong caramel malt back to it.

Jun 22, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange color with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus hops, grapefruit, touch of malts. Flavor is very hoppy, crisp, citrus. It is highly drinkable and a much more refreshing beer for a 9%er compared to many double IPAs.

Jun 20, 2009 Cloudy orange, big dense foamy head. Big citrusy, orangey, grapefruity aroma. Very tasty - citrus, of course, plus a ice background of caramel and toffee. My notes also indicate it has "stoney nubs", I have no idea what that means. Really good, nevertheless.
