| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle from thickfreakness. Thanks dude! Pours hazy orange with a beige head. Smell is like hop pellets. Taste is hoppy, and tastes like chewing on hop pellets, but with a pretty sweet backing and becomes a bit syrupy by the end of it. Decent, still. scraff (1946), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2009 Dark hazy amber, thick creamy off white head. Soft grassy pine notes warm to swirls of peached toffee aromas. Integrated dry pine and floral bitterness up front balances well on full semi-sweet grassy caramel biscuit-like flavor. Full bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Very well made, but I’m not sure where the Pliny rumor came about. This brew is doing it’s own thing... BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours orange amber with a stiff off-white head. Laces somewhat. Very hoppy aroma. Seems quite mixed. Heavy on floral. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. There’s so much hop it isn’t worth describing. Decent malt backbone. So much fruit - citrus and other. It’s not at all harsh, and it’s very tasty. Mellow bitter finish. Bitter! Cornfield (4956), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 I picked this up at the local Binny’s in Orland Park, Illinois, despite Crook County’s oppressive sales tax. It pours a somewhat hazed light amber/orange body with a modest head. The aroma is a serious PNW hoppiness - pine, citrus zest, yellow grapefruit, tropical fruit, herbs, and earth. There’s a sturdy toffee-ish malt backbone supporting the hops in the flavor. The latter seem to collide with one another, at times blending oddly to make a confused bitterness. But that’s okay. The finish is a healthy zest and pine bitterness, dry and satisfying. Mayhaps Sam Adams will take some notes from this fellow on how to use hops in their regular brews.
