Body is medium to full, texture is smooth and the malt structure is surprisingly solid, but the caramel-like malt and the oily/sugary/artificial concentrated hop syrup character is difficult to enjoy. deyholla (703), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2009 12 oz bottle. Cloudy orange brown with a bone head. Nose is musty orange peel, caramel and papaya. Creamy full body, a bit chalky, with buzzy carb. Taste is orange marmalade, buttered toast, grapefruit peel, toffee and pine resin. Heavy, kind of gritty. drjay44 (790), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick lasting off white head, with good lacing, over a dark golden (SRM 15) cloudy (hop haze?) body.....nose of floral hop, pine, citrus (grapefruit)....taste sweet toffee, caramel malts to start then resin and grapefruit hop tones dominate and linger....mouth feel is medium, carbonation the same. Let this warm up, as the complexity and balance improve greatly. Alcohol dominates if it is too cold, but as it warms the beer opens up and reveals its true character. danielcurtis81 (900), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of Craig. Pours a Deep golden brown with a small to medium dirty white head. Nose is medium with earthy hop tones and pale malts. Flavors are supper sweet with some white pepper being very heavy. Either the average is off compared to me or I got a bad bottle. Did not like this guy. ghostmonkey (182), budd lake, New Jersey, USA

It had a big taste, way too big for it to be enjoyable. It almost made me cringe a little. Hopefully when I have it colder it will taste better.
