Commercial Description:
While there is a great malty foundation to this brew, Mike’s Double IPA showcases his appreciate for hops. In fact, he included seven different varieties of American hops, totaling over six pounds of hops per barrel. The hops add an intense floral and citrus aroma to this brew.

Amber, cloudy, vibrant. Looks nice. Herbal nose with slight papaya...light orangey notes. Minty, tobaccoey herbal hops, start woody and dry. The malts in this one are toasty initially with some residual sweetness in the back. The problem for me is that as this one warms those sticky, chewy malts become dominant. The beer quickly loses all semblance of drinkability. Disappointing.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Nice lacing left on the glass. Aromas of citrus, floral hops, some tropical fruits, and caramel. Tastes of citrus, spicy hops, floral, caramel, a little earthy, and pine. Hoppy burps. Light alcohol in the finish but overall well hidden.

12oz bottle–pours a rich light tan head and amber/copper color. Aroma is floral/herbal hops (cascade, Willamette, centennial?), secondary medium malt, then some pine, chemical. Taste is chemical/metallic/resiny hops with some bitter, secondary medium malt, syrupy mouth feel. This beer varies as I progress on both aroma and taste. And some sugary butterscotch (diacytl?). not crazy about. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing. 091025rerate-12oz bottle-pours an off white head and cloudy copper color. Aroma is orange/lemon-citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Taste is orange/lemon-citrus/pine/floral hops, secondary medium malt-caramel, some tannins. Thanks stevo for sharing. 3.6

Bottle: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, wispy lacing white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy and orange hops well balanced with a sweet toasty underlying caramel maltiness. Starts with good sweet malty fullness and a fairly fresh and citrusy flavoring and bitter hoppiness. Finishes drier with a lingering bittersweetness. Very true to style and dangerously drinkable.

Pours amber with a white head. Smells of c hops. Tastes resiny and citrussy with a nice bitter finish. I’m glad this finally saw distribution.
