As fans of Sam Adams this, even though a Long Shot beer, really tastes like a Sam Adams beer. Not something we’d make a 4 mile beer run for but if it was in regular store we would buy it again. Basically if your a fan of Sam Adams or home brew we recommend you try the Long Shot pack. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

The grape sweetness was definitely more prominent than any hoppiness one would imagine with the "pale ale" in the title. This is deifnitely a fruit beer first. The maple was a nice addition as well. I rarely meet a fruit beer that I do enjoy and this is one of them. Well done Lili! bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 1, 2008 Sam Adams Longshot Grape Pale Ale has a golden/light amber color to it. The foam is there but then fades after a few seconds. The lacing is ok. A sweet, fruity smell. No real hop smell. Has a very sweet, grapy taste. Sour, no real hop taste. I don’t really like it too much. Too sweet, too sour, not enough hops. I like the direction, maybe a few more test batches can make this better. Bockyhorsey (2511), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Grape fruity arma along with some grains. Amber body with off white head. Flavor has a dryness to it that isn’t very refreshing. Also a chalky spicey palate aftertaste that is that good eitther. esjaygee (1519), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Light orange with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, sweet malts. Tastes mildly sweet, finish is sort of grape-ish, mildly astringent. "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape"... Huh? Maybe I’ll go try that and see what it’s really like because I couldn’t taste the grapes and the hops were on vacation when brewing this one so it can’t be a pale ale. Contest winner? Not sure how. While not awful, it’s nowhere near the Longshot Weizenbock winner. jujubeast6000 (777), Houston, Texas, USA
