Aroma is light toasted malt, caramel, light touches of fruit- but I wouldn’t have guessed grape. Taste is light notes of fruit and somewhat tannic; caramel, light toasted and english malt, light floral hops. Perhaps this was better in the competition before SA brewed the recipe; quite strange in it’s current form. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 3, 2008 I was unimpressed with this beer. It poured a clear amber colour with a small white head. aroma was slightly floral, with no grape taste- even though i tried my hardest to find it. Strong caramel and very reminiscent of a pale lager. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Clear amber orange, moderate head, pretty good lacing and retention. Aroma is somewhat grapelike with caramel malt and some grassy hops. Aroma to me was more neutral than anything. However, the grape flavor did not work well with what else was here. Quite quaffable, moderate to high carbonation, almost no bitterness, moderate sweetness. travita (1926), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Light amber in color with not too much of a head. Slight grape in the smell. Some light malt character in the taste also with hints of grape in the flavor as well. Pretty light overall. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 17, 2008 A light amber apperance with a moderate white head. A very nice looking beer but that really is the highlight of this beer. The aroma contains hints of citrus as well as the obvious grapes and some caramel. This one is rather bland with some grapes and citrus in the flavor. Interesting idea but not executed well. Overall boring but ok. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 8, 2008 12 oz bottle, best by Jul08. Clear amber with an off white head. Somewhat sweet nose, bready and lightly spicy, a bit of corn and berry. Some green grassyness pops to the fore of the flavor, with more bready grain and something like a fruity yeast ester. Grape? Where? Eh - no grape that I can detect, which leaves me with a fair ale, but nothing to get excited about. ucusty (1896), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
