Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination...

Amber in color with a small off white head. Aroma is light toasted malt, caramel, light touches of fruit- but I wouldn’t have guessed grape. Taste is light notes of fruit and somewhat tannic; caramel, light toasted and english malt, light floral hops. Perhaps this was better in the competition before SA brewed the recipe; quite strange in it’s current form.

I was unimpressed with this beer. It poured a clear amber colour with a small white head. aroma was slightly floral, with no grape taste- even though i tried my hardest to find it. Strong caramel and very reminiscent of a pale lager.

Clear amber orange, moderate head, pretty good lacing and retention. Aroma is somewhat grapelike with caramel malt and some grassy hops. Aroma to me was more neutral than anything. However, the grape flavor did not work well with what else was here. Quite quaffable, moderate to high carbonation, almost no bitterness, moderate sweetness.

Light amber in color with not too much of a head. Slight grape in the smell. Some light malt character in the taste also with hints of grape in the flavor as well. Pretty light overall.

A light amber apperance with a moderate white head. A very nice looking beer but that really is the highlight of this beer. The aroma contains hints of citrus as well as the obvious grapes and some caramel. This one is rather bland with some grapes and citrus in the flavor. Interesting idea but not executed well. Overall boring but ok.

murky brown body with a thick long lasting cream colored head. nose is malt, like sticking my nose in a mash tun. very sweet flavor that i enjoy. caramel flavor dominates in a good way. a bit of green grape is there in the finish. love the sweetness. 5 5 7 3 13

12 oz bottle, best by Jul08. Clear amber with an off white head. Somewhat sweet nose, bready and lightly spicy, a bit of corn and berry. Some green grassyness pops to the fore of the flavor, with more bready grain and something like a fruity yeast ester. Grape? Where? Eh - no grape that I can detect, which leaves me with a fair ale, but nothing to get excited about.

Pale in appearance and flavor. Minimal hop flavor. Grapes made it dry nothing else. This beer just didn’t do it for me
