I mean, honestly...it really lacked any Pale Ale character and was really more akin to a Pale Lager in flavor and finish. An aroma of...of...well, not much actually. Perhaps a slight bit of malty sweetness but aside from that vague description...not much. Appearance was a clear, reddish brown color with a one-finger thick head. Flavor had some sour graininess to it but aside from that awful bit, there wasn’t much else. I’ve got 2 other bottles to try so we’ll see. Butters (1683), Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | May 24, 2008 Courtesy of Maltdawg. Copper amber clear body with ample off-white head. Malty sweet aroma. White grape flavor. Medium fullish mouthfeel. Overall impression: some poured wine into my beer. Not a fan. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Golden color with a light-med head. Aroma is a big grainy, sawdustly, and lightly hopped. Flavor dominated by light sawdusty malts with a hint of British hops and light grape - not grapey/vinous enough to really be all that complex. Sorta OK, but I feel a bit let down by any "contest winner" that tastes this mediocre. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear golden amber body with thin head. Aroma is faint grapes, musty. Flavor is sweet, more vegatable than fruit with an odd bitterness to it. Very dry. Now what the hell am I going to do with my other two bottles? TURDFERGUSON (1609), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Just drank this swill. This is a decent bitter pale with some grape juice added. Sorry I called it swill, but It just did not taste very good. Sweet malts, light bitterness, grape sweetness. meh. Headbanger (1601), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 14, 2008 12oz bottle-A light amber body with a nice small tight white head and an aroma of slight grape and a pale lager with some small malt and hops thrown in. Taste of hops and malt with pretty much no grape whatsoever. Would of like to have more grape but a pretty weak pale. esjaygee (1600), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Light orange with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, sweet malts. Tastes mildly sweet, finish is sort of grape-ish, mildly astringent. "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape"... Huh? Maybe I’ll go try that and see what it’s really like because I couldn’t taste the grapes and the hops were on vacation when brewing this one so it can’t be a pale ale. Contest winner? Not sure how. While not awful, it’s nowhere near the Longshot Weizenbock winner. TheBeerOrg (1594), Kentucky, USA
