| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Light ,sweetish malts coming out, there is a hint of a grape there, its odd but my wife and daughter both said the grape aroma hit them big time, so maybe this is made to female tastes, flavor is sugary sweet with some dark fruit and caramel, taste very light ,with an excessive drying effect on the palate, the idea of fresh concord grape really sounds intriguing in an ale, this should be redone, with more emphasis on the grapes RSRIZZO (1368), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Aroma is sweet with a light hop scent. Color is a bright golden brown with good carbonation and thin head. Taste is thin and sweet. Stating with a light body it goes down with a fizzy feel. Finish comes in with a sweet malt flavor that is backed by a light hop flavor and mild bitterness. After taste has a dry sweetness that seems to has a very faint grape like taste to it. Its not bad, but not all that good. I am surprised that of all the brews entered into the Longshot contest that this was one best. ilovedarkbeer (1365), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2008 thanks to BMan1113VR for the bottle. I am guessing that the original recipe was different. Pours a pale amber color with a small to medium sized head that maintains as a haze over the beer. Nose is salty, wheat, like, and something else I am not sure. Mouth feel is acidic and the finish has a small note of fruity grape like finish with some pronounced bitternes. Not something that I would like to drink regularily. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 6, 2009 I’m not surprised that this contest-winning GPA got such a low "GPA" - it’s not a very exciting beer. Golden-amber color with a nice white head. Aroma is white wine, light fruits, and sweet malt. Solid malty backbone with some grape flavors and slight hops. Refreshing but a little light on the flavor. Medium on the palate. Brewer pussyfooted around a little bit on this one. More grapes, more hops may make this a little better. | 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Mar 28, 2008 This isn’t that great.Tastes like their mediocre pale ale with some fake fruit in it. Everything is thin, from the aroma, to the flavor, mouthfeel. I don’t recommend it, but it comes with a great weizenbock. Trick someone into drinking this. boto (1336), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2008 12oz. bottle: This pours a clear, slightly golden amber color. There was a small off-white head on it that dropped of rather quickly. Somewhat lighter aroma. You get a whiff of the grapes and some malts. Possible a hint of ginger. Semi (but not strong) sweetness at the start. Finishes off with some bitterness. The grapes are there, but subdued. Medium-light malt body behind it. Interesting and not bad at all. This is a refreshing summer brew. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Clear amber, loose small head. Mild English pale ale aroma with toffee and some fruity esters. Cloyingly sweet. Very little in the way of grape much less maple syrup flavor. Medium body, balancing bitterness. Clean enough but nothing to write home about. JMerritt (1318), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Dark golden with a large, frothy off-white head that is nicely lasting. Aroma is sweet with notes of honey, white pepper, and straw. First impression upon taking a sip is the palate, it is very velvety with a silky carbonation that is absolutely perfect. Flavor-wise - some raw straw, rye bread, lightly fruity hops and something "stale" towards the end - almost like soggy corn tortilla chips. Not really detecting much I’d associate with "grape", however.
