Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination...

Dark golden with a large, frothy off-white head that is nicely lasting. Aroma is sweet with notes of honey, white pepper, and straw. First impression upon taking a sip is the palate, it is very velvety with a silky carbonation that is absolutely perfect. Flavor-wise - some raw straw, rye bread, lightly fruity hops and something "stale" towards the end - almost like soggy corn tortilla chips. Not really detecting much I’d associate with "grape", however.

Pours a clearish golden amber color. Aroma is a mild sweet caramel and malt, not a lot of grape aroma. The flavor really isn’t as "grape" as I had hoped - I was expecting something a bit more like that fake purple grape fruit juice. Oh well - for what it really is it isn’t bad - but it fails at a "grape" beer.

12oz bottle. Filtered golden-amber color with a nice head. Aroma is very mild and faint. The taste is malty, but with a white grape fruit juice taste awkwardly thrown in the mix. Maple syrup probably takes away any of the sparkling and tangy flavors you’d hope to find in a fruit beer. Tolerable, but pretty disappointing.

bottle. I remember liking this one more at the GBAF. Descent Pale with a funky grape flavoring. It was odd and out of place. Hey, If I could brew it I’d have no problem drinking it. Congrats to the winner.

Bottled. Beer is clear, medium-hued, strawberry-brown. Head is initially large, white, frothy. Rapidly and mostly diminishes.
The aroma is malty with moderate notes of slightly husky toasted grain, lighter note of cookie; Hoppy with a moderate herbal note; Yeasty with a light note of basement; Light note of fake grape candy flavor, tropical fruit, metallic trace.
The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately acidic (roundly sour), lightly bitter with a long, lightly bitter, lightly acidic finish. Metallic aftertaste in the pockets of the cheeks.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Don’t like the fake fruit note, don’t like the sickly acidic hump in the flavor.

Red copper color with frothy white head. Soft fruit nose with some hops. Flavor is some bright grape mixed with a very basic pale ale.

Bottle from Bev Mo. I was happy to see this since I had read about the new Long Shot series and the controversy surrounding one of them. Poured with a thick and beautiful white foam head and the liquid was a dense amber orange hue. The aroma was typical of pale ale but also smelled similar to a Vienna and the grape was noticeable and made me want to drink from my glass upon pour. I found a slightly tart presence of sour green grape that tasted ripe and blended perfectly to make delicious pale ale. Although, I did find this ale to be very tasty, I don’t believe I would buy it again.
