| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 15, 2008 This beer is a watered-down version of Dogfish Head’s Chateau Jiahu. Undertones of grape in the aroma and subtle hints in the flavor but nothing like the name implies. Crystal clear brass with a thin white head, minimal aroma, forgettable flavor...average at best. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Pours out a clear light amber color with a small white head, good amount of carbonation. Aroma is of sweet molasses and slight hop bitterness. Taste is interesting, sweet syrupy notes with some dry grape flavors. Hop is in there for some balance. Interesting combination of flavors. alexsdad06 (1101), Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear light amber color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma has a hint of grapes, grains, and medium sweet malt. The flavor is medium sweet malt and grape juice. I see that it is classified as a fruit beer and am left wondering where the fruit is. Yes, I mentioned that it is there, but it is a small part of the flavor. This seems to be an average pale ale (at best) with a hint of fruit thrown in. I did this one first after seeing some posts so I have something to look forward to with the Weizenbock. Pwn3d (1088), Manhattan, New York, USA

I must say this was better than I was expecting.
