Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination...

12oz bottle. Pours amber with a thin fizzy, white head. Smells malty and slight, sweet grapey. Tastes caramelly malty throughout, the grape flavor doesn’t kick in until the finish. Medium body, ok carbonation.

2008 Bottle - Decent aroma, malt and fruit, but not grapey or mapley, I get a slight bit of tannin from the grapes, but otherwise a completely forgettable pale, not that good...

This beer is a watered-down version of Dogfish Head’s Chateau Jiahu. Undertones of grape in the aroma and subtle hints in the flavor but nothing like the name implies. Crystal clear brass with a thin white head, minimal aroma, forgettable flavor...average at best.

Typical pale in most respects, although it was quite dry due to the grapes. Not too bad, different for sure

Pours out a clear light amber color with a small white head, good amount of carbonation. Aroma is of sweet molasses and slight hop bitterness. Taste is interesting, sweet syrupy notes with some dry grape flavors. Hop is in there for some balance. Interesting combination of flavors.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear light amber color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma has a hint of grapes, grains, and medium sweet malt. The flavor is medium sweet malt and grape juice. I see that it is classified as a fruit beer and am left wondering where the fruit is. Yes, I mentioned that it is there, but it is a small part of the flavor. This seems to be an average pale ale (at best) with a hint of fruit thrown in. I did this one first after seeing some posts so I have something to look forward to with the Weizenbock.

12oz bottle. Nose has faint grape, but thats cheifly because im forcing the aroma to comeout by thinking about it. Taste is a bit sweet but no grapes, smooth and nicely carbonated. but its lacking.

Pours a clear copper with a fizzy head and spotty lace. Aroma is lightly sweet caramel, bready grains, grapes and yeasty. Flavor is toasted malt with some grape and dark fruit. Thin mouth feel, sweet fruity finish. I must say this was better than I was expecting.
