Aroma is of a pale lager with a weak grape smell. Taste brings out the aroma of grape more than just smelling it. slimchill (780), Austin, Texas, USA

Clear pale amber with a small but tight white head. Flavor is balanced with some hop character and a sour finish. Palate is sharp, slightly thin, but makes for a pretty drinkable beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Amber pour with a creamy and lasting white head. Fruity aroma, lots of grape and citrus as well as some malt. Flavor is sweet, but I’m not getting as much grape as the aroma implied. High carbonation. Some green grape flavor towards the finish. It’s ok... better than I can homebrew that’s for sure. Slipstream (760), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Interesting to come across this surprise release from Boston Beer. There is a good-sized head, and a charming aroma of grapes, wildflowers, and malt. Amber-brass color. The flavor is interesting, but it is not what i expected. I taste more wheat than IPA. It is soft and nicely fizzy on the palate. There is some maple and a touch of sourness and fruity sweetness. Mild, dry hops and a touch of metal in the finish. This is a pleasant and mellow brew, but the label led me to expect something more dramatic. I bet the original homebrew was better. mmmbeer (753), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 15, 2008 12 oz. bottle- poured into flute- transparent dark amber pour, light grape colored head bubbled away, medium carbonation. Aroma of hops and grapes- not appealing. Hits the mouth with a medium body, the hops and grapes DO NOT go together at all, finish is a little bitter. The finish, or rather the final chokedown, is what saves it from being a drainpour. GEEKSTINKBREATH? That about sums it up. djd07 (744), Houston, Texas, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 25, 2008 Had this a party where somone told me it was the best long shot they’d ever had. Unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to the hype. Poured a nice copper color. The aroma was challenging which was kind of fun. There was something there that reminded me of pancakes which I thought was weird until I read the bottle and saw that there was maple syrup in the beer. Flavor was ok. Nice malt presence, but the maple syrup/grapes combo wasn’t quite doing it for me. Kudos for creativity though.
