Mar 17, 2008 Didn’t like this long shot so much. No taste of grapes over the pale ale flavor. This could have been a better beer, but I don’t see it worthy of winning the 2007 Long Shot contest.

Mar 17, 2008 Pours amber with a small white head. The grapes didn’t play a big part, hints here and there, but shy and probably good that it was that way. The pale was soft on the malts, lightly hopped in the finish, fruity and a touch citrusy. Not a bad beer, but i’m a bit shocked it won its way to the Longshot series.

Mar 4, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. Medium amber/brown in color. Somewhat bready malty aroma. Roasty malted flavor. A hint of hoppy bitterness towards the end. Tastes like a million other average pale ales.

Feb 15, 2008 Bronze color with a taller ecru head. Fruity scent, with mango and rose petals. Generic sweet brew. Bit of white grape juice and touch of melon. Little bit of malt come out in the finish. As good as the weizenbock was, this is a let down. A light fruit golden ale.

Mar 9, 2008 Pours clear deep golden- coppery with a thin lasting head. Aroma is light citrusy and grassy hops slight cattiness, and green grapeskin, and catty white wine. Flavor si a bit sweet, light bitterness, green grapeskin astringency and roughness, with more white wine and some chaap sparkling wine- a bit of apple and acetaldehyde.

Jun 1, 2008 Aroma brings delicate caramel malt notes with a touch of fruitiness, but nothing that is clearly a grape aroma. Flavor is lightly malty with a tart snap laying on the sides of the tongue. The only clue that there is grape in here is when you breathe out. Very subtle, but in a good way. Nice long lingering fruity finish.

Feb 9, 2008 Some artificial grape flavor. Moderate hops, really a light pale ale. I don’t think I would notice the grape if I wasn’t expecting it to be there. Well carbonated, and a bright gold color.

Mar 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle, part of Longshot Six Pack, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours bright, clear orangey amber with a smallish head the diminished quickly. Predominantly toasty malt aroma with light fruity and floral notes and a bit of perfume. Grainy malts in the flavor, with zesty, bitter grape and hop notes, along with an interesting umami undertone near the finish. Light to medium body and crispy carbonation.
