The pour was golden in color, nice head and lacing, fairly typical, though for a PA. The aroma was grapes, sweetness, maybe a touch of wheat. The flavor was mostly grapes, light grassy hops, and some grains. Overall, the grape flavor was somewhat extract-y, not a killer great beer, but ok. Meh. 17thfloor (1507), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Typical Sam Adams sweet sticky malts with some flavors of grape-skins, but not merged in a congruent way. Nice idea... bad execution. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA

A little bit of grape sweetness, but I am not really tasting any fruitiness. Light bodied, pale lager taste. Drinkable. My beer is way better than this. bozoNZ (505), Christchurch, New Zealand

Poupori of aromas, fruitsalad, wafers and a malt sweetness. Not sure I get the grape thing - maybe grapes imported in to NZ are different? A rich fullness in the mouthfeel, sweet but other notes that defy description. Grapes & maple syrup - only in America huh? cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Poured a clear, vibrant dark copper color with a medium thick bright white head and stringy lacing. Weak aroma of buttery bread and caramel No hop presence or fruit hints, which is odd considering this is a grape pale ale. Mild and filling with an airy finish that comes across as rather empty. Neutral flavor of creamy, nutty malt. Some notes of caramel and bread with an offsetting butter taste. Where’s the hops!? Where’s the grapes!? All of the flavors I was expecting never showed themselves, the beer itself is decent but doesn’t reflect it’s name at all. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The aroma was light grape, tart, and caramel malt. The flavor was bran, copper, and very light grape. The palate was thin. The finish was waxy. travita (1952), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Light amber in color with not too much of a head. Slight grape in the smell. Some light malt character in the taste also with hints of grape in the flavor as well. Pretty light overall. Skyview (4090), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Sampled at Cellar’s WIne & Spirits weekly beer tasting in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear light copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly disappears to a thin white head. Aroma is almost as absent as someone’s deadbeat ex-spouse’s monthly alimony check. I could just barely pick up any hop scent, maybe a dry grassy hop character. Taste is mildly semi-sweet with a dry pale malt flavor that quickly falls apart. Finish is semi-sweet, a little malt and dry hop character but then a crisp and clean cut aftertaste. I did not pick up any grape or white grape juice flavors. Could have left the white grape skins in the aging tank a little longer.
