Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination...

OK, I guess? Didn’t really feel the grape thing too much. I guess I was surprised this actually won. Not really worth going out of your way for.

Pours a nice copper colour with an off white head. Aroma was medium malt, almost a flat ginger-ale aroma, some light herbal hoppiness. A bit flat tasting as well. Caramel maltiness balanced by a fruity bitterness.

The pour is orange-ish pink-ish hued. The head is white and sudsy. The aroma is slight hoppy with sweet characteristics... The only reason you think there may be a grape aroma is due to the name. The beer is pretty high in carbonation, light. the grape flavor is dry and crisp. The finish is not as sharp as I would like, and there is a touch of lingering aftertaste. I’m not a fruit beer guy....

(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly malty with a hint of sweetness that’s probably from the grapes but it’s not very apparent. Flavor is light and malty with a very thin and watery bitterness near the end. Odd flavor of sweetness in the aftertaste. Some grapes in the flavor, but not a whole lot.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vivid amber color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma was tangy and sweet grape. The flavor was sweet and sugary initially with noted grape flavors and turned oddly dry towards the finish. Yep it is grape, but I don’t get the pale ale part as there is no hop presence whatesoever. I can not say it is a disappointment only because I did not expect it to be any good.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear copper color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Has a sweet floral hop and caramel malt aroma. Flavor is herbal hops and light caramel malt. Not getting any grapes here. Has an unpleasant finish. Actually, this beer doesn’t taste good. Can’t believe SA picked this beer as a Longshot winner.

Pours a translucent golden amber with a n average bubbly off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, grains, some caramel, honey, some grapes and just the slightest touch of hops. Flavor of grape skins, honey, some caramel and bready notes, a touch of hop bitterness, on the dry side with a touch of sweetness. If this won the top spot in the Longshot Comp I have a feeling the original beer was a bit different then this.
