Smell is a malty fruit aroma. Taste is a semi sweet with a faint hint of grapes and a good malt body. Good carbonation and lacing.

Clear pale amber with a small but tight white head. Flavor is balanced with some hop character and a sour finish. Palate is sharp, slightly thin, but makes for a pretty drinkable beer. jredmond (1068), New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 29, 2008 12 oz bottle. There is practically no aroma, the beer pours a amber color with little head. The taste is pretty enjoyable. Surprisingly easy to drink, smooth and light. The fruit is not over dominating like with many fruit beers. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2008 Bottle. I had this one right after it came out, and Im going off memory. Smelled like a very gentle belgium white. Very faint smell of fruit. Tasted crisp and light, hints of gape and hops, with some grain malts, and very drinkable. Unique flavor. Glad to see Sam Adams pick a non-typcal beer for this winner, although not entirely my choice of brews, but a refreshing alternative. djd07 (753), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Interesting to come across this surprise release from Boston Beer. There is a good-sized head, and a charming aroma of grapes, wildflowers, and malt. Amber-brass color. The flavor is interesting, but it is not what i expected. I taste more wheat than IPA. It is soft and nicely fizzy on the palate. There is some maple and a touch of sourness and fruity sweetness. Mild, dry hops and a touch of metal in the finish. This is a pleasant and mellow brew, but the label led me to expect something more dramatic. I bet the original homebrew was better. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Very mild, fresh ale aroma. Clear honey-ale color. Tastes light, very easy to drink, as easy as a light beer. Only the slightest of a grape taste, keeping the light ale-beer taste is the primary flavor. The grape is ao faint it tastes almost more like apple. Seems to me like a great summer beer alternative to a citrusy-hop summber beer. This was very nice and i only with these Longshots where perminant beer selections. nearbeer (1871), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2008 12 oz, bb Jul 2008. Clear, shiny orange-copper with a two-finger creamy head that lasts. Honey, molasses, earthy root vegetable, and crisp green herb aromas. Cinnamon-honey, grain, and light bubblegum are the front flavors, with later some toasty nut and caramel apple. Woody herbs and crisp apple on the finish. Near-medium body has sufficient drying for all the sweetness. Started with a little too much carbonation, but turned out to be a fairly smooth beer. A little much of the sweet and twangy flavors for me.
