Don’t let the ’pale ale’ in the name fool you as the hop aroma and flavors are minimal. Aroma is light, sweet, fruity malt. Flavor is crisp and fruity with a bit of malt, acidity and a light, sweet grape finish. Not a pale ale at all but a good, refreshing light lager. Goodgrief (1152), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2008 My least favorite of all the Long Shot beers to date. Pour was a nice looking golden amber with a one finger head and nice lacing. Weak aroma of wet cardboard. The flavor was sweet sticky malts infused with an overripe grape flavor. The mouthfeel was really syrupy. This brew is certainly not light bodied with any dry flavors at all. DuffMan (2757), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 Really deep brassy gold, clear. Soft white head. Sweet juice-syrup aroma, with some cereal malt and a touch of leafy hop. Initially quite a sweet, almost syrupy mouthfeel. Not a true green grape flavour in my opinion, it has a softer edge to it with no tartness at all. More honey-ish really. The mid-palate is clean malts, and the finish has a stemmy/leafy quality with light bitterness. This came across as an english pale ale with a sweeter-than-average profile. Interesting. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a typical pale golden color, small white head. Aroma is decent but average, light malt, beer smell. Flavor is dissappointing. Bland pale ale flavor with a macro character. Grape flavor doesn’t become evident til end of glass. Semi dry. Maybe something was lost in the transition from homebrew to mass production. Drinkable but boring. wickedpete (627), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Crystal clear amber body forms a tall beige head that diminishes to a quarter inch and lasts. Banana fruitiness in the aroma along with doughy yeast, and some maple/caramel also shows through. Hops aroma is noticeably absent. Taste is pretty flat and bland. Not much grape, thankfully, but other fruity sweetness is there. No bitterness and plenty of malt body. Medium bodied all the way through, with a fruitiness lasting in the aftertaste of an otherwise clean finish. rcweir (121), Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Medium orange brown, moderately carbonated with small head. Aroma of yeast. Thick body with strong maltiness and grape finish fading into hops bitterness. Would not have guessed grapes were used if not mentioned on label. dkachur (2371), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Updated: May 15, 2008Bottle from Sam’s Quik Stop in Durham. Pours brown-ish read with a medium sized head. Disappears quickly but leaves a nice lacing. Strong aroma of cinnamon and other spices, with a hint of maple. Taste is sweet with some graininess and a dry finish. Honey/maple comes through on the aftertaste, Kind of a thick feel. Better than your average Sam Adams. rustbucket0873 (146), Krikville, New York, USA
