Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It’s like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination...

The pour is orange-ish pink-ish hued. The head is white and sudsy. The aroma is slight hoppy with sweet characteristics... The only reason you think there may be a grape aroma is due to the name. The beer is pretty high in carbonation, light. the grape flavor is dry and crisp. The finish is not as sharp as I would like, and there is a touch of lingering aftertaste. I’m not a fruit beer guy....

Not really so much of a fruit beer, as the grape is quite subtle if apparent as grape at all. I took this as more of a brown ale / bitter blend, with a sweet, caramel, malty front, and a curious bitterness in the finish. Perfectly drinkable, especially for someone who likes a sweet palate.

Color is a clear caution-light yellow/orange. Thin 1/4 finger of head. No carbonation to be seen. The smell has hints of sweet and dark berry. Smooth honey. Darker notes of grape; sweet but rich. Aromatic berry wafting above the glass. No pale malt to speak of, per se. The taste is slightly sour grape, with a richer dark second wave. Hints of juicy grape, balanced by some dry pale and crystal malts. Medium bodied feel; leaves a juice-like coating on the tongue. Actually quite nice. It’s a highly drinkable, berry-laden brew. Not overly sweet. It’s just dark enough.

Hmmm... of the hundreds of submitted beers, this was the winner? It’s okay, but definitely nothing special... not by a... longshot! haha!

Bottle. An amber body with an off white head. Thin with a fruity grape start with some subtle woodiness and caramel malt. Mmm SA never makes great fruit beers, im sure this was much better small batch.

Strange and exactly what it says. Grape juice flavored beer. A bit sweet and odd tasting. Not much balance just sweet grape and fruit sugars.
