Medium sized tan fizzy head that mostly diminished, fair amount of lacing, transparent, slow-rising carbonation, and a ruby hue. Nose was malty, caramel, raisins, and rich. Flavor was malty, lightly bitter, caramel, vinuous but not overly so, and raisins. Mouthfeel was smooth. Medium body. Worthy of a try and would partake in this one again. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Pours dark copper color with creamy head and good lacing. Aroma is full of fruit, malt and yeast. Flavor was rich with caramel malt, brown sugar, dried fruits, and a bit of alcohol. Just a bit too sweet for me, but a delicious beer anyway. Full flavor, full bodied. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Bottle Deep mahogany pour with thick creamy head and nice lacing. Strong sweet fruity Belgian aroma. Thick mouthfeel and complex flavor profile. Very good brew. Even though it’s commercial brew, it’s the best homebrew I think I’ve had. Two thumbs up to Don! blkitson (137), Westerville, Ohio, USA

Pours a nice brownish red color has holds the head nicely. Can really tase the hopiness of the brew. Hard to believe that this was a home brew. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2007 The body is dark copper with a medium khaki colored head. The aroma has walnuts, bubblegum and caramel. The taste has some notes of bubblegum and toffee. There is also some hints of black tea. The thick mouthfeel and low carbonation are interesting. A good brew, especially by Sam Adams standards. sfhc21 (74), Midlothian, Texas, USA

For as strong as the alcohol content was, you can’t taste it. And I just love the concept of LongShot. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Updated: Dec 22, 2007Bottle. Pours ruby/copper with a moderate tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, some dark fruit, a bit of alcohol, and some roasted malt. Flavor is very malty and sweet as well, with bits of dark fruit and some alcohol in the finish, and a roasty flavor in the background. Creamy mouthfeel, though not chewy like some beers of this sort. Rather like a doppelbock. Maybe a tad overboard on the sweet malt, but it’s a tasty dessert beer, and does have some complexity.
