Commercial Description:
Created by Don Oliver, California. Don says that the blend of distinctive malts in his brew "offers a rich and malty taste that doesn’t overpower. It’s a full-bodied, heavy ale good for a winter night by the fire."

Acquire via trade with grandet. Huge thanks to Tony for letting this go in trade. Pours amber with thin mocha head. The aroma is malty with the addition of molasses, ripe dark grapes and mild musty earthiness. The taste has a nice maltiness mixing with rich dark fruity esters of grapes, boysenberries and prunes. Very nice bold flavors that could easily age another couple of years. Very tasty. Into the finish I get a bit of sweet silky caramel candy to go along with the other notes.

Generally medium body with a sweet malt finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep brown, small tan head that quickly dissipates. Lots a bubbles threw the beer. Smells of sweetness, copper, bitter fruit, and some malt. Sweet flavor with a lingering finish. Some toastiness on top of the cough-syrup flavor.

Bottle. Had this one when it first when it came out, and Im going off memory. Smelled strong, lots of hops and malts. Tasted very bitter with the hops, but lots of sweet body with the flavorful malt. Carmely and piney. Thick and grassy. Roasty and earthy. Lots of flavor and well balanced. Very good. My fav of all the longshots so far.

Reddish brown pour from the 12 oz bottle. Not much head. Malty aromas with sweet caramel. More sweet malts on the flavor as well. Caramel and dark fruits. Some alcohol in the finish. Pretty tasty.
