Commercial Description:
2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

Pours dark copper/light brown with a thin tan head. Smells earthy and biscuity with some fruity undertones. Tastes of biscuits, some sweet malt, earthy.

Clear copper brown, nice head. Malty aroma of, well, malt. Flavor is also malty, with some bread, caramel, and nice plum notes all working in. I usually don’t like bocks, but this was quite well done and enjoyable.

Poured clear dark amber, almost brown, with a small head but strong retention and minimal lacing. Nutty malt aroma, slight toast and brown sugar. Taste features strong bready malts, slightly burnt toast, caramel, and soft biscuits. Thick chewy mouthfeel, almost no carbonation and a pleasantly sweet malt aftertaste that lingers.

Bottle->dimpled mug: pours a large, frothy, off-white head atop a clear, brown body. Aroma of grain, herbs, and dough. Flavor’s duration is average, being moderately sweet. Body is medium, texture creamy, and the finish astringent. A pretty good bock and bocks are not typically my favorite.

I know why it won. It is excellent. When a beer is this good I just give it a 5 because I want people to experience this beer. It is absolutely outstanding. Caramel, raisin, toasty, and spritely carbonation. A wonderful aftertaste. I want to mix this with a hop bomb and see what amazing flavor comes out of it.
